FAQs

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a semi-permanent form of a tattoo. A specialized technique that implants pigment into the dermal layer of the skin with a sterile, manual disposable needle. Mimicking the appearance of natural hair strokes that will enhance and define your brows.

WHAT IS POWDER OMBRE OR MICROSHADING?

Powder Ombre and Microshading is a semi-permanent form of a tattoo also known as micro pigmentation. A specialized technique that implants pigment into the dermal layer of the skin with a machine and or disposable needles.

Powder Ombre consist of a single solid color, lighter at the beginning of the brow and will gradually get darker at the tail for a penciled or pomade effect.

Microshading will give you the same outcome as the Powder Ombre but with microblading hair strokes.

HOW LONG WILL MY SEMI-PERMANENT BROWS LAST?

Microblading is semi-permanent, Usually lasts for 12- 18 months and will fade over time. A touch up is recommended every 12-18 months.

Powder Ombre and Microshading last longer due to the amount of saturation of pigments, usually 2-3 years. A touch up is recommended after 2 years or when color starts to fade.

There are factors that affect the longevity of this treatment such as: exposure to the sun, lifestyle, skin type, retin A, chemical peels and certain skincare products. To help maximize the life of your cosmetic tattoo, please follow the aftercare instructions.

HOW LONG IS THE SESSION?

It can take 3 - 3.5 hours, this includes consultation, paperwork, the procedure itself and going over aftercare instructions.

Touch ups are 1.5-2 hours.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?

The healing process varies by client, but usually 7-10 days or a few days more for ombre powder or Microshading. The complete healing processes take between 6-8 weeks.

DOES IT HURT? IS THERE ANY NUMBING?

We provide a topical numbing cream or gel throughout the procedure, to minimize any discomfort. Pain tolerance, however, varies from client to client.

HOW CAN I TELL IF  MICROBLADING IS FOR ME?

If you have a substantial amount of hair, wanting something natural that will help define your brows for a no makeup look, Microblading might be for you. Microblading is only recommended for clients who want to achieve brows that are natural and blend in with existing hairs. You may still have to fill in your brows with a pencil if you are looking for something more defined.

If you wish to have more of a bold brow that requires no penciling/filling in please look into Powder Ombre or Microshading.

WHAT IS THE HEALING PROCESS LIKE?

During the initial healing process, your skin will begin to PEEL. It is VERY important that you don't pick them, picking them will cause them to fade prematurely. Once the flakes have fallen off, a layer of healed skin will completely cover the hair strokes. Semi-permanent pigments are being used, sometimes after the peeling process it may look like it's fading or has completely disappeared, but will slowly re-appear within 1-2 weeks, as your skin regenerates. Hair strokes or shading can be added during your first touch up appointment.
